As you're not actually from the UK you are aware that Scotland still has free higher education and other things like no charge on prescriptions that England doesn't have. So yeah, it might be ugly. Because people were scared. Our country could have been broken up tonight. How often does that happen in the western world? And for a lot of people who didn't vote Tory, who don't agree with Tory policies but believe in being a strong nation, we nearly lost our future. A lot of Scottish people just lost theirs I guess. But why were they more important than the rest of the UK? And why was the vote ever 50%? For something like this it should have been 70%. By making the threshold 50% it just insures you have a split nation whoever "wins". Like a lot of English the amount of Scottish that want to break away is actually a surprise because other than the eternal "friendly" ribbing between the two cultures I didn't think they hated us that much. But apparently they do.

So the NO side winning doesn't make me happy at all really. Because nearly 50% of Scotland still hates us that much they wanted to break away. What's to loving celebrate? If NO truly does win I will be relieved but that's it. Mainly i'm angry and confused. I wish I could have an omnipotent view of every YES voter to see why they voted yes. How many are just doing it to be free of the Tories forever (the purest answer)? How many because of weird vague hipster bigotry? How many because they saw someone being nasty on twitter (the Murray option)? How many because they thought Scotland was going to become some new socialist paradise like Norway and Sweden? Only if I could see these numbers could I ever really understand what nearly happened, and might still happen, tonight.

I don't know Scotland. Maybe try talking to more English people? Or do you really think our cultures are just that incompatible. Pretty sure when I visited Scotland it was just like England only with nicer accents. Dr who was still on the tv and there were Mcdonalds every 20 miles.

There he is, squatting over a toilet like some kind of animal. His bare feet are planted on the seat and he is reaching up and giving the stall walls this furious death grip. He is already looking at me when I come around the corner. Admittedly, I'm startled by what I see...but I can't help but continue watching the spectacle. Suddenly there's this loud pop, and I see a dark blur launch out of Xiaojun's bottom and into the toilet with such ferocious speed that I instantly feel dizzy trying to parse what had just happened.

Xiaojun's still holding onto the stall walls, so he pulls himself up off of the toilet, his entire body rotates backwards and upside down, and then--as his arms are about to pop right out of their sockets--he drops himself head-first into the toilet.

Needless to say, I turned right back around and beat feet. I've never been back there.

In Batman: Arkham City's Catwoman DLC Catwoman is a playable character and is extremely sexy. One of her moves is a sliding attack where you run and then slide into enemies in order to knock them over. Functionally, Batman has the same attack, but Catwoman's is kicked up a notch.

When Batman does the sliding attack he does the kind of slide you see baseball players do when they slide for a base, it looks OK and it is powerful, but Catwoman's sliding attack is just as powerful and several times more sexy. What she does is; 1) she gets on her knees, 2) she leans really far backwards so she is almost lying down 3) she spreads her legs, all of which is sexy individually, but when put together and accompined with her battle moans is probably the single most sexy move in the Arkham Series.

I felt that every other character was portrayed somewhat three-dimensionally, which I really liked, like the fact that the Student Council member was kind of an rear end in a top hat but who still tried to be somewhat proactive and useful and the School Guardian who was a rebellious teen who still really liked the school. The characters felt at least partially sympathetic, only for everyone to suddenly agree that a pathetic, friendless MRA straw man was okay to completely vilify without any semblance of an attempt to al least try to understand why he felt the need to do what he did. It was really jarring when everyone was portrayed as human and then suddenly one guy wasn't.

I know that the culture around nerd-dom is really toxic right now because of MRA-types doing really lovely things. I understand the desire to vilify them and to fight against everything they stand for. I know the amount of harm they can do and have done, as well as the catharsis that comes from fighting Jorts-like characters. However, I don't think that just stereotyping people with those views as completely villainous and pathetic, rather than trying to understand why they have those views, will do any good for anyone.

So even if my ideals are on the opposite side of the spectrum, I ended up empathizing with Jorts.
