My roommates were convinced someone in our neighborhood was trying to kill their dogs, because there were strange piles of food in the alleyway near us. Besides the several other dozen dogs and cats living around us

This exact story happened to me in August. The. Exact. Story. At least we were just moving to a new part of the campus. I actually freaked out looking at your picture because it looked exactly like my school 2 days before it started in September. AND THEY ADDED ENGRISH ON THE loving WALLS WHEN THERE WASN'T ANY BEFORE. We begged them. BEGGED THEM. To look at what they were doing before it went up. And they wouldn't let us. And they got rid of the teacher's only bathroom.

I only have the numbers for Western Europe but here's one thing in the realm of 65-70% of food poisoned my cases are caused by norovirus. You'd be better off laying off of whatever pills you're taking and eating some yogurt, provided you aren't terribly lactose intolerant. Everywhere outside of the developed world you get antibiotics for everything. Every time I've been to the ER in Taiwan I get antibiotics. I go to the ENT for anything, antibiotics. My fiance has psoriasis and she was given antibiotics. The super bacteria of the world all come from there.

Chinese may work on mobile things where you can write the character with your finger on a screen and the correct one will show up. Using a keyboard to write Chinese in China, HK, and Taiwan all have different systems that are so lovely. I've been professional Chinese secretaries take agonizingly long to type on keyboards and continually needing to delete, go back to the base radical and search for the right character.

Gorilla Salad posted:Truthfully, it's sad they don't have miasma theory. At least then they'd do something about the air quality. They did. In Taichung (where I am) during the Japanese colonial times they hired an American to come in and design the city, which is now the central district, to make sure the streets get the maximum amount of sunlight in the most days in order to dry them out, thereby removing standing water, removing bad smells, and miasma would go away. It pays to tell students to do a history project on the development of their own city

I have a Dyson ball vacuum cleaner where part of side of the ball wheel broke off. Its cool, under warranty. I pack it up, ship it back with a courier, they say they will ship it back the same week. Get it back 4 days later, put inside a larger box, unchanged. I really don't know what happened with the vacuum the past 4 days.

Every year my school every 8th grade class must perform in an English song competition. My class did Imagine Dragons. Now I wasn't exactly listening to what the song was going to be...and then I notice all the kids come out with beards. OK, must be a santa thing for the holidays. Fine. And then one kid starts speaking...and it is a Zero Mostel impression. And then I take a closer look at what they are wearing...this was pretty much Jewface. They are supposed to pick a modern pop song. And so they did a song from Fiddler on the Roof, "Tradition." And so I have my homeroom class watching this, and they know I'm Jewish. I'm the only one in the school. And so they are watching this...and looking back at me, with faces that only say "this must be what traditional Jewish culture is like, right? Did you grow up like this?" And now they keep playing the song on youtube. There are alot of things that Asia doesn't get.
