The OP is good for someone who already knows/plays WMH and looks for another faction, it's a bit unreadable at times for new people. What's an electro-leap and why is it important? Is Stormclad a unit, a buff or what? What's so awesome about Geomancy, is there anything or did you only point out a separate magic path? Also, your Cryx description is lacking.

Do you know any awesomely converted Warmachine armies, like scratchbuilt finely detailed warjacks, stuff like that (post links/pics)? The game seems interesting, but I'm turned off by the way stock warjacks look and I'm wondering how much can be done with that.

I hate the aesthetics, not the kits. I have yet to see a Colossus(sp?) I'd like the look of.

Paper Kaiju posted:Have you tried looking at Hordes instead of Warmachine? I ask because I had the exact same issue when I got into the game years back (this was before Retribution came out; I'm one of the freaks that actually likes the aesthetics of myrmidons). Over time, the other factions' warjacks have grown on me, but I still feel that the warbeasts have more impressive scuplts.

So, I hear Warmachine actually has some decent-looking warjacks now. Any info about the new clockwork faction except that one video?

Welp, it seems PP's figured me out. Let's see: WHFB: Undead. Infinity: Nomads/CA. Malifaux: Ramos/Colette. And now Cyriss in WM. Why yes, I do prefer my armies mechanical. Organics are for command only. And the Art-Deco is just a cherry on top.

Welp, and I wanted to start CoC. It's not like I WANT ALL THE MODELS NOW or something, but I'm concerned about the possibility of them being a "secondary" faction, like the White Dwarf codexes of GW. Yes, I know that PP has much more common sense, but once burned, twice shy. Or something.

I've seen people use metal ring templates. Are they for marking lasting effects so that no models have to be repositioned, or what?

After watching a few of these I'd like to say that any video batrep that does not have a list in the beginning/video description, does not pan over the army and introduce the units (like "I'm running eCaster, Jack A jack B, max randomgrunts with UA..." etc.), AND has a wonderful whole-table view only so I can watch random blobs of unpainted metal scurry around can gently caress right off.Exinos posted:I think I officially hate PP plastics. Where can I read more on sneaky "this faction actually plays very differently to what it looks like" or unusable/bad iconic units? I've heard such things a few times and I'd like to avoid the nastier traps while I pick my faction. (I have no intention of playing Cygnar; my current preference is Cyriss/Cryx/Everblight)

Actually, if I decide on Legion I'd like to run beast-heavy, the totally-not-dark-elves look of their infantry does nothing for me. I figure that if I wanted infantry I could play pretty much any other game. Thanks for the answers, I'll check back once I play a game or two with each of them and decide on which one to start.
