sometimes the old transcriptions are easier, i pronounced qing king until i saw the old spelling (ch'ing)

english speakers are a profoundly backwards group where their reaction to the changes in their language over the last 1000 years has been "let's keep the spelling of our words the same as 800 years ago, who cares if knight is now nait". it is absolutely no wonder they're the no1 reactionary global power when their written language is so archaic it's the perfect case study for what appealing to tradition does to your brain

what i'm saying is, anglos are the very very last people in the world who have any right to poo poo on how people spell their words

though and thought not having any pronounciation in common is very funny

its a cognate rather than loan word but 'wrist' being the connection between the hand and the arm in english and 'vrist' being the connection between the foot and the leg in swedish confuses me every time i read or use either of them
