  • The level 60 CRP leve for Beech Lumber takes... Beech Lumber and is worth 1.36mxp/leve. It takes 49 leves to go 60-70.

This actually makes a lot of sense because

How many logs / lumber does it take total?

Had a Red Mage just now in Shisui complain that i shouldn't be stance swapping because he kept ripping aggro off me in Deliverance. Once i told him i'm going to keep doing it because i like to do damage, he spent the entire next pull AFK typing out some long diatribe on how it's a leveling dungeon and it doesn't matter and i should learn how to "weave" Overpower into my DPS The pull he sat out was slightly slower, but suddenly there were no issues, no problems with the ninja or the healer taking aggro at all.

Why he waited until the last pull before the final boss is a bit of a mystery to me. Correct me if i'm wrong but it seems like just randomly throwing in overpowers while in Deliverance is a bit of a waste since aggro gain sucks dick while you're in Deliverance and that is time that is better spent Fell Cleaving/Decimating.

No you should for sure still be using overpower in between combos. I usually start a pull in defiance by throwing out an overpower or two, build gauge to 50, swap to deliverance, berzerk, infuriate, decimate x2, then spam overpower until berzerk ends. Also as much as it is on your dps to use their enmity skills, it still falls on you to actually hold aggro, and that might mean swapping back to defiance if they're really on point.

What's the level 70 PLD opener supposed to look like? Is that about right?

Pretty sure you go into holy sprit spam right after doing your first FoF goring blade, and by the time you're out of mp you'll have enough time to fit in one last FoF goring blade combo.

I remember really liking this idea but upon re-reading it I've noticed they want you to collect 99 fibers before you're allowed to buy the Nier items and you get 3 fibers from Golding a FATE. That's a lot of grinding, even with the 5 fibers you'd get each day from EXDR (without doing any FATES it would take 20 days worth of EXDR to get enough fibers). So while I really like the look of the fictional event I'm really glad they aren't on the ff14 design team :v:

As someone who recently got everything to 70 :shepicide: if money's not a concern you'll still do the gathering leves, but make sure to buy (or gather I guess :v:) your GC turnins every day, with HQ giving double exp. Other than that I guess you can go buy or craft HQ gathering gear to make doing the leves and class quests less painful, but yeah there's no real leve-kit option like there is for crafters.

Is it worth levelling armour and weapon smithing alongside gladiator by the way, or should I just focus on the gladiator for now? The game seems fairly steady about giving me item upgrades so far, but having a bit more control over my equipment seems smart.

Trying to level crafters as you level your combat classes is fairly pointless since you'll be getting gear from quests anyways. On that note though, if you think you'll appreciate the sword more if you craft it yourself it's not very hard to do, but you just really won't be holding on to them for very long anyways.

Fray is wearing a crafted lvl 60 set, I think it's called the Chivalry set or something.

What's with this adventurer squadron stuff? I just got Second Lieutenant with Maelstrom and unlocked some squadron thing, but I don't know how to send them on quests or get more. I read that you need at least 4 to send them on quests, and I only have 3, but it's not clear how to get more. Do you just randomly get applications as you do challenge log stuff?

If you complete your challenge log stuff, there's a chance you'll get new recruits showing up at your barracks. There are specific recruits for different parts of the challenge log but the Gold Saucer challenges can get you any recruit.

Oh yeah, and you can use http://ffxivsquadron.com/ to track your squad and help you figure out what training to send them on and what team comp will let you beat a mission.

That is more or less how it tends to go, but yellow scrip can get you level 70 gear that's Good Enough for most stuff; HQ crafted, fully overmelded gear is the best, but if you don't plan on doing lots of endgame crafting, or don't want to deal with overmelding, or want some better gear to help you manage to craft the best HQ crafted gear by yourself (though if you're in a goon FC or otherwise have crafter friends, don't do this, get help obtaining the crafted stuff), then the yellow scrip gear is fine. The actually decent yellow scrip gear takes a ton of yellow scrip, though.

e:

You can have three at once, but you can switch them out a certain number of times (3?) a week by buying another with red scrip. Some recipes are specialist-only, and being a specialist gives you some powerful actions to use while on that class.

Most endgame recipes are no longer specialist only (there's a few housing or glam items as exceptions) and I'd argue that the 20cp you get at the start of a craft as a specialist is worth way more then the finicky actions it gives you.
